INSTRUCTIONS
FOR CHECKENDON
Checkendon
is about eight miles north-west of Reading. I have found the
best route to be Reading via M4, turn off at junction 10 on Reading spur
(A329M), look for signs through Reading for Caversham and A4074, cross
Thames just below Caversham, take left turn on to A4074 shortly after
bridge, proceed up A4074 until you see signs for Caversham on the right.
The village is small and the ground is just past the main pub, although
I
can't remember the name or which direction this applies to.
Going via
the Maidenhead spur (A423M) and then following the A423 is the
obvious alternative, turning off at Nettlebed, but there are sometimes
enormous queues going down Remenham Hill into Henley, and I have avoided
this recently.
Checkendon
has its own website, www.allcat.demon.co.uk/ccc/
, or easily
found via Google.
