EAST
AND WEST HENDRED CRICKET CLUB
Travelling
from London, take the M4 to the A34 (Newbury and Oxford
exit), travel north on the A34, going over the Downs and taking the exit
for Harwell and Rutherford Laboratories. Drive past the entrance to
Harwell (AERE) Labs and on about a mile to Rowstock Corner Roundabout.
Take the left turn towards Wantage (as I recall, the A417) and travel
about a mile to the left turn into East Hendred Village. Take the third
turn on the right, past the Plough Pub and continue on straight over a
small crossroads on to Mill Lane. the Sports field is about two hundred
yards down on the left. Incidentally, there are three pubs in the
village, for those wishing to take lunch at EH: The Plough, the
Wheatsheaf and the Eyston Arms.
East and West Hendred Cricket Club is an active friendly club set in the
lovely village of East Hendred near Wantage in South Oxfordshire. We play
in Division 3 of the Premier Section of the Oxfordshire Cricket Association
League on Saturdays and have a comprehensive program of Sunday freindly
fixtures. Last season we won an award for having the best ground in the
OCA league and have been asked to stage the final of this seasons Airey
Cup, the OCA's premier cup competition. We are always keen to welcome
new players of all ages. We would also welcome with open arms anyone who
is keen to umpire or score for us. If you would like any further information
please contact Duncan Francis on 01235 224712 or Ivan Mulford on 01235
