Established in 1963, Lord Gnome's CC comprises a mixture of wily old geezers and talented youth playing mainly Sunday fixtures. With no permanent home ground, most matches are played away, although games are held regularly at grounds in Great Missenden, Queens College (Oxford) and Dunsfold.

Poor performance from Gnome X(1?)

Starting the game with only 10 men, with Mr Tapper in Spain, Gnome were asked to field on an unusually hot and humid day. A combination of some streaky batting from the Putney openers and some poor bowling from the Gnome lead to an opening partnership for Putney of 104. John Bracken broke the partnership with a mixture of fine bowling and full tosses and picked up 2 wickets for 42 off 7.

Putney finished with 215 for 7 after 40 overs - Matt 2/53 off 10, Anton 1/32 off 10 and Barney 1/23 off 6.

John D (31) and Nick (24) opened the batting and posted 55 for the first wicket. Goher (29) and Matt (a quick 20) batted well, but too many wickets were given away cheaply (Anton adding to his Dcuk stats) and the innings ground to a halt over 60 runs short of the target.

Not a performance to remember, but a fixture that hopefully will become a regular on our card.
