CUMNOR CRICKET CLUB Address:
Park Field Cumnor is near Oxford - about five miles to the south-west. Suggested route: Proceed to Oxford as per matches at Queens. I.e. turn off M40 at junction 7, follow A40 to Headington roundabout. Turn left (south) and proceed along A4142 (Oxford ring road), which becomes the A34, until you reach the A420 to Swindon (Botley roundabout). Follow the
A420 for approx three miles to an intersection with the B4017, signed
for Cumnor. Turn off here. The B4017 takes you over the A420 and You pass
the Vine pub, then the church on your left. There is a left turning shortly
afterwards which takes you to the village pond and the Bear There is a lane to the cricket ground a short distance past the pub, to the left. Ground phone number: 01865 863089. The Bear and Ragged Staff has been our usual pre-match rendezvous, and does reasonable food. However the service has been unreliable at times, with long waits, wrong orders, unwashed salad and one spectacular row with the guvnor. Gnomes who have tried the Vine report that the food there is fine. If you are
travelling to Cumnor from Swinbrook, take the A40 towards Oxford and turn
off on to the B4017 at Eynsham. Cumnor is about 6 miles down.
