MILLFIELDS AT PELICANS GROUND, GREAT MISSENDEN

Directions to the Pelicans Cricket Club ground - Nags Head Meadow, Great
Missenden.

The Pelicans play at Great Missenden, Bucks, approx 30 miles from central
London. The ground is behind the Nags Head pub - pub phone, 01494 862945.

Recommended route from London. I take the M40 to junction 2 where you exit
north to Beaconsfield. As you enter Beaconsfield there is a complex
mini-roundabout where you should follow the signs north to Amersham on the
A355. When you approach Amersham do not enter the town but follow the
signs directing you west on the A413 towards Aylesbury. After approx 3
miles the A413 the road takes a bend to the right and passes under a railway
bridge. Take the next left which is signed to Great and Little Kingshill
and (separate sign) to the Chiltern Hospital. The hospital is about 400
yards after the turn and the Nags Head is 200 yards or so past the
hospital – both are on the lefthand side.

You can park in the Nags Head car-park and walk through to the ground. Or
turn left just before the pub and enter the ground approx 200 yards on the
right. Parking is in the rough field to the right of the pitch.

If you miss the Chiltern Hospital turn, proceed into Great Missenden and
turn left at the mini-roundabout taking you down the High Street, which is
the A412. After exiting the village the Nags Head is approx one mile along
on the right hand side.

Alternative road route avoiding M40 if desired. Leave London on the A40;
keep on the A40, do not join the M40 at Uxbridge, but follow the signs for
Gerrards Cross. (Roughly) 1 mile after Uxbridge take the A413, sign posted
to The Chalfonts and Amersham; the turning is to the right and the junction
is controlled by traffic lights. Keep on the A413, through The Chalfonts and
by-passing Amersham, following the signs to Aylesbury. You are now back on
the route described above. After approx 3 miles the A413 takes a bend to the
right and passes under a railway bridge. Take the next left which is signed
to Great and Little Kingshill and (separate sign) to the Chiltern Hospital.
The hospital is about 400 yards after the turn and the Nags Head is 200
yards or so past the hospital – both are on the lefthand side.

There is a good rail link . Gt. Missenden station is (roughly) 45 minutes
from Marylebone and Nags Head Meadow is (roughly) 1 mile from the station.
Leave the station, go down the hill and turn right into the High Street.
Then just keep on going, out of the village, and after (roughly) 1 mile the
Nags Head pub is on the right. Nags Head Meadow is behind the pub.
